GOLD COAST, Australia – Christie® is proud to once again serve as the exclusive projection partner of the 2025 Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) powered by Vista Group, taking place at The Star Gold Coast from October 27–30.

Hosted by the Cinema Association Australasia (CAA), the AIMC is the only event on the Australian film industry calendar that unites cinema exhibition, distribution, filmmaking, and technology professionals under one roof. Currently in its 16th consecutive year as projection partner, Christie reaffirms its longstanding commitment to Australia’s cinema industry and its ongoing support for innovation and excellence in movie presentation.

“We’re delighted to once again partner with Christie as our exclusive projection partner for AIMC 2025,” said Cameron Mitchell, executive director, Cinema Association Australasia. “Christie’s cutting-edge projection technologies set the benchmark for cinematic excellence, ensuring that every screening at AIMC reflects the magic and quality that define our industry. This region is built on passion, creativity, and an enduring love for the cinematic experience. For decades, we’ve had the privilege of standing alongside our partners, sharing their vision and supporting their success. Christie’s commitment goes beyond technology — it’s about trust, collaboration, and a deep belief in the future of cinema here. We’re proud to continue our longstanding partnership with AIMC.”

Delivering outstanding visuals for the convention

Screenings and presentations at the convention will be powered by Christie CineLife+™ Series RGB pure laser projectors, bringing vivid color and detailed, true-to-life images to audiences at the HOYTS Theatre, a versatile venue accommodating up to 1,800 guests.

In collaboration with HOYTS Cinema Technology Group (CTG), Original Syndicate, Dreamweavers, and The Star team, the theatre will be transformed into a multi-screen cinema environment designed to captivate delegates with stunning visuals and immersive storytelling. HOYTS CTG managed freight, logistics, installation, and maintenance of Christie’s state-of-the-art projection systems to ensure optimal performance throughout the event.

A Christie CP4435-RGB pure laser projector will illuminate the theatre’s 12-meter-wide center screen, complemented by two Christie CP4425-RGB pure laser projectors on the 6.4-meter-wide side screens. These compact, all-in-one, DCI-compliant projectors feature Christie’s CineLife+ electronics and Real|Laser™ illumination, offering exceptional contrast, brightness, and color for a truly cinematic experience. The CP4435-RGB, in particular, has mesmerized Australian audiences on numerous occasions with its stunning visual performance, most recently at the 2025 SXSW Sydney Screen Festival.

Inspiring the future of Cinema

Christie’s participation at AIMC 2025 will also include a featured speaking session by Olga Aleksan, senior regional cinema sales manager for Australia and New Zealand, Christie, titled “The Cinema We Love.” Scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at 4:10 p.m. at the HOYTS Theatre, Aleksan’s presentation will discuss the resilience of the cinema industry and the innovations that keep it growing through the challenges.
