What’s your name and title?
Mike Majstorovic, training manager, systems & solutions
How long have you been with Christie?
I worked at Christie from 2009 to 2017 and left for just under two years. I missed the company and people too much, so I returned in February of 2019. I’ve worked in multiple roles/departments, including manufacturing, technical support, customer quality, and technical training.
How do you help our cinema customers?
There are many, but I’d like to highlight two facets: scheduling customer training and ensuring our training programs are of the highest quality for our technical customers.
To elaborate on the training programs, I develop the training material for every new cinema product. I then lead a “train-the-trainer” session for our Christie cinema trainers around the globe to ensure they are ready to deliver training. Our customers benefit from the trainers’ knowledge and expertise in installation and service work.
What, in your opinion, makes the cinema industry unique?
Cinema has been around for over 100 years, and I truly don’t think anything will stop it, not even a pandemic! The traction that the cinema industry has is truly remarkable. Decade after decade, there are so many changes in our lives, but one thing is for sure – we all continue to go to the movies for an enjoyable night out.
What is cinema to you?
When it comes to my career, just about everything!
My career has been primarily focused on cinema and ProAV since finishing school in 2009. It’s given me the opportunity to meet incredible people in the industry, travel the world for incredible events, work on the latest and greatest technology…and so much more.
After investing years of my life in cinema, it has truly been a fulfilling experience.
What do you like to watch, and what’s your favorite film?
I mostly enjoy watching comedy and action movies.
My favorite movie would likely be “The Matrix”, as I feel like it was one of the first movies that really inspired me to think about the storyline. Plus, the action scene at the end was a highlight!
