Kevin Draper explains CineLife+ electronics

August 22, 2025

Our series with Kevin Draper continues with a look at our CineLife+ electronics platform

In this piece:

In this limited series, Christie product manager Kevin Draper explains cinema technology. Last month, we talked to him about our new IMB-S4. Now, we’re looking at CineLife+ Series 4 electronics – our advanced, ultra-fast processing platform at the heart of our CineLife+ RealLaser™, Phazer™, and Xenon-illuminated cinema projectors.

What’s CineLife+?

CineLife+ projectors feature Series 4 processing electronics, which enable advanced features designed to enhance the projected image. These features include LiteLOC™, which maintains consistent color and brightness, and subpixel alignment with electronic color convergence (ECC), which ensures color alignment throughout the entire image.

CineLife+ also provides 4K, 120Hz capabilities – a feature that is unique in the market to our cinema projectors.

…and what’s CineLife?

Let’s look at a few of the differences between CineLife and CineLife+ electronics (notice the differentiating plus sign on the latter!). With CineLife+, we’ve added or enhanced features to ensure your image looks exactly as intended, notably ECC, LiteLOC, and 4K at 120 Hz visuals.

CineLife electronics, available in our CineLife Series cinema projectors, feature Series 3 electronics and, like CineLife+, include a streamlined UX-designed touch-panel interface that simplifies playback, scheduling, and management of your cinema content. It features rental mode to support lease/rental-based businesses, manual pixel alignment, and power savings in standby mode. CineLife electronics can play back content in 2K at 120Hz and 4K at 30Hz.
