Christie illuminates Taipei Dome Showtime Cinemas

TAIPEI – Christie^® is proud to announce that Showtime Cinemas, Taiwan’s second largest movie theatre chain, has selected its CineLife+™ Series cinema projectors to power the new flagship multiplex at Taipei Dome, a landmark entertainment complex in the heart of Taipei City.

Set to become Showtime Cinemas’ most advanced and luxurious site to date, the 14-screen multiplex forms part of a major mixed-use development that includes retail spaces. Designed to redefine the premium moviegoing experience in Taiwan, the new cinema complex will feature state-of-the-art projection technology, sophisticated design, and elevated amenities that go beyond standard offerings.

Across the 12 soon-to-open auditoriums, Christie CineLife+ Series projectors featuring ultra-fast Series 4 processing electronics and Real|Laser™ illumination bring the best of RGB pure laser projection to audiences. Installed by Christie’s trusted partner Dacoms Technology, these auditoriums are equipped with projector models such as the Christie CP4435-RGB and CP4455-RGB, delivering ultra-sharp 4K resolution and up to 57,000 lumens of brightness—ideal for premium large-format (PLF) presentations. These projectors set a new benchmark for color, contrast, and brightness, ensuring every film is experienced with lifelike realism and stunning visual clarity.

In addition to the 12 Christie-powered auditoriums, Taipei Dome Showtime Cinemas will debut two Dolby Vision + Atmos (DVA) auditoriums, delivering Dolby’s premium sight and sound experience to Taiwanese audiences. The Dolby Vision projection systems, developed through Christie’s ongoing collaboration with Dolby, provide over twice the brightness of standard presentations and a contrast ratio exceeding one million-to-one, revealing the deepest blacks, brightest whites, and every subtle detail in breathtaking 4K resolution.

Christie CineLife+ Series projectors are designed to deliver premium performance, energy efficiency, and long operational life. With support for up to 4K resolution at 120 fps, these DCI-compliant systems combine exceptional color accuracy, contrast, and brightness for both 2D and 3D content, helping cinemas around the world deliver unforgettable, next-generation movie experiences.
