RGB pure laser projection lights up SIFF 2025

June 15, 2025

SHANGHAI, China – Christie® is proud to continue its partnership with the Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF), once again delivering state-of-the-art projection technology to enhance the cinematic experience. This year marks a milestone, with Christie’s RGB pure laser projection system selected for the first time to screen both the festival’s opening and closing films.

Held from June 13 to 22, SIFF 2025 celebrates the 120th anniversary of Chinese cinema, spotlighting an impressive lineup of both international and domestic films. With over 3,900 submissions vying for the Golden Goblet Awards, the festival stands as a testament to Shanghai’s influence as a global cultural hub.

On June 13, the Christie CineLife+ Series CP4435-RGB projector was deployed at the Shanghai Grand Theatre to screen the opening film She’s Got No Name. Directed by acclaimed Hong Kong filmmaker Peter Chan and starring Zhang Ziyi, the film is based on a true unsolved murder case in 1940s Shanghai. Just last month, it was also screened out of competition at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where Christie projection systems were used across 24 venues—further underscoring Christie’s presence at leading international festivals.
