Christie® RGB pure laser projectors lit up two of Portugal’s most vibrant cultural events this summer—Picadeiro Open Sounds in Fundão and Yard Festival in Setúbal and Palmela—creating striking visuals that enriched both music performances and digital art installations. AV production company ADLC Audiovisuais deployed Christie M 4K25 RGB and M 4K15 RGB projectors to deliver captivating large-format projections that energized each unique setting.

Picadeiro Open Sounds, held at the historic Palácio do Picadeiro in Alpedrinha (Fundão), blended electronic music and digital art in an open-air celebration that spanned two days. The venue, a former royal riding arena, was transformed into a dynamic space where music, light, and architecture came together.

The festival featured a multidisciplinary program, including audiovisual performances, exhibitions, VR and AR installations, gaming areas, talks, and a dedicated Music Lab. A Christie M 4K25 RGB projector was used to illuminate the venue’s façade and surrounding architecture, and accompanied live visuals by artists Nuno Pereira, Carlotta Premazzi, Daniel Rondulha (VJ Dataset), and Astronauta Mecânico.

“Christie M 4K25 RGB gave us the power, brightness, and clarity we needed to bring the artists’ visuals to life, even in complex architectural settings,” said José Cordeiro, director of ADLC Audiovisuais. “Its rich color reproduction and compact design made it ideal for a site like Picadeiro.”

Yard Festival, a four-day celebration of electronic music and art, took place across two venues: the Forte de Albarquel in Palmela and the hills of Areia Branca in Quinta do Anjo. Set against natural and historical backdrops, the festival featured performances from international and local electronic music artists and was complemented by wellness activities and regional cuisine. A Christie M 4K25 RGB projector illuminated a suspended sphere installation in the Areia Branca landscape, while a Christie M 4K15 RGB projector brought dynamic visuals to the 17th-century fortress in Palmela.

“Each location posed its own challenges—from projecting onto an airborne structure to mapping across an old stone façade,” explained Cordeiro. “Christie RGB projectors gave us the versatility and performance we needed to adapt quickly and deliver visually striking results. These festivals show how projection can deepen the audience’s connection with music and art.”

Both projectors used by ADLC Audiovisuais belong to the award-winning Christie M 4K RGB Series, which offers 4K UHD resolution, true-to-life colors, and up to 25,000 lumens in a compact and rugged design. Featuring Christie’s TruLife+™ electronics and a wide color gamut approaching Rec. 2020, the M 4K RGB Series projectors are built for demanding environments where reliability and visual impact are critical. With omnidirectional capability, built-in warping and blending, and whisper-quiet operation, they are particularly suited to creative event staging and outdoor installations.

“What makes Christie RGB pure laser projectors stand out is how consistently they amaze people. The color, the brightness, the uniformity—it all comes together to create moments that people don’t forget. Whether it’s a music festival or a mapping show, the experience feels bigger, more alive, and more immersive than anything else we’ve worked with,” concluded José Cordeiro.
