Christie extends support for China Film Sparkle program

May 22, 2025

SHENZHEN, China – Christie® is once again partnering with China Film Equipment Co., Ltd (CFEC) to support the China Film Sparkle program for a second consecutive year, providing projection technology for film screenings held in conjunction with the 21st China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF).

Aimed at inspiring tertiary students to pursue careers in cinema and filmmaking, the China Film Sparkle program’s latest screenings are taking place at Dongguan University of Technology—an established public college in Guangdong province—from May 22–26. These sessions are powered by the Christie CineLife+™ CP2411-RBe projector with Phazer™ illumination and the CineLife+ IMB-S4 media server. More than a thousand students from colleges and universities across southern China are expected to attend the screenings.

“We are excited to support the China Film Sparkle program for the second year running, which continues to play a vital role in developing China’s cinema industry,” said James Li, executive director, China Cinema, Christie. “This collaboration reflects our commitment to nurturing the next generation of filmmakers while demonstrating the capabilities of our latest cinema projection solutions. It also aligns with our Christie Ignite program, which is dedicated to cultivating future leaders in ProAV and cinema.”

Launched in 2023, the Christie Ignite program partners with educational institutions, industry bodies, and associations to deliver initiatives such as workshops, competitions, and the popular CineSparks Webinars. It continues to support programs that provide knowledge, experience, and industry connections to help students and emerging professionals build successful careers.

The CP2411-RBe projector features the advanced CineLife+2K™ electronics platform, offering 2K resolution and 11,000 lumens of brightness. Ideal for small, high-gain screens up to 14 meters (47 feet), it includes auto-configuration, a motorized lens mount, and Christie’s proprietary Electronic Color Convergence (ECC) for accurate lateral color alignment. It is also compatible with Mystique™ Cinema for precise sub-pixel alignment in dual projection setups, delivering outstanding 2D and 3D presentations.

Completing the setup is the CineLife+ IMB-S4, a robust, integrated media block that securely processes DCI-compliant content. It features expanded storage, improved battery life, and 4K 96fps playback powered by high-speed CineLife+ processing—offering exhibitors a powerful, all-in-one cinema solution.
