August 12, 2025
CHENNAI, India – Christie® is set to elevate the theatrical experience as the official technology partner of Big Cine Expo 2025, taking place at the Chennai Trade Centre from August 19–20.
Marking its eighth consecutive year in this role, Christie will spotlight its latest projection technologies designed to deepen audience engagement and boost box-office performance for exhibitors and theatre owners. Attendees will experience stunning visuals from the CineLife+™ Series, which brings the most advanced illumination technologies to screens of all sizes—from premium large-format (PLF) venues to mainstream cinema applications.
“Christie has been a valued partner of Big Cine Expo since its inception, and its unwavering support continues to raise the bar for technological excellence on our show floor,” said Raghavendra T, Director of Big Cine Expo. “We’re thrilled to collaborate with Christie once again to offer delegates a premium visual experience.”
Kanwal Brar, director of Cinema sales for India, Christie, added, “Big Cine Expo provides the ideal platform to showcase how Christie’s innovations can support India’s dynamic cinema landscape. Whether it’s through RGB pure laser or other enhanced illumination sources, we’re helping exhibitors achieve stunning visuals, higher reliability and energy efficiency, and improved total cost of ownership.”
Two Christie CP4425-RGB pure laser projectors will illuminate the main screening theatre during the convention, delivering vibrant, true-to-life imagery for screenings and presentations. Built with CineLife+ electronics and Real|Laser™ illumination, the CP4425-RGB offers exceptional lumens-per-watt efficiency, significantly lower CO₂ emissions, and the flexibility to support hundreds of projector and lens combinations. It is also compatible with legacy Series 2 service parts and accessories, making it a practical and sustainable choice for cinema operators.
At booth #208 on the show floor, Christie will feature a trio of static displays highlighting its projector lineup. These include the CP4435-RGB, a powerful pure laser model that delivers outstanding image quality, operational life, and cost efficiency; the CP2415-Xe, a dependable Xenon-illuminated solution designed for mainstream auditoriums; and the CP2409-RBe, which features Phazer™ enhanced laser illumination for brilliant visuals and extended performance at an affordable cost.
Notably, the CP2409-RBe is equipped with the IMB-S4, a feature-rich media server offering out-of-the-box 4K high frame rate playback, 3.6TB of onboard SSD storage with optional NAS-S4 expansion, and an industry-leading five-year warranty. All models are powered by ultra-fast CineLife+ electronics, enabling superior image processing, consistent performance, and impressive energy efficiency to reduce operating costs and carbon footprint.
Further demonstrating its role as a thought leader in cinema technology, Christie will also participate in a panel discussion titled “The New Frontier: HDR, VDR, and Direct-View Display in Cinemas.” The session will take place on Tuesday, August 19 at 3:30 p.m. at the convention’s screening theatre. Ken Liew, executive director, Professional Services at Christie, will join a panel of industry experts to explore the next generation of cinematic formats and the evolving visual standards shaping the future of moviegoing.
